Maple Wheat Bread for 2-lb. Loaf Breadmaker

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons nonfat dry milk
  • 3 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in the breadmaker pan in order listed.
  2. Choose Cycle 1 for Basic Bread, 2 pound loaf for size of bread and medium for crust color. Press Start. When done, remove bread from breadmaker and carefully remove kneading paddle from bottom of loaf.
  3. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing with a bread knife.
